Is money enough?

I had a wonderful encounter with a client who has built her business up over the last 25 years. She has had many hurdles along the way, some industry focused (she’s in finance…..say no more) and some personal.

She has been approached by many over the years, as her little business was successful. But when is a good time to exit? Who is the best person to partner with? Are they a right fit for her clients?

She needed to discuss all the options, conversations with a prospective purchaser was well advanced, but she felt as though she was not getting the recognition she deserved.

In one hour, we worked out the end financial goal to achieve over what period of time. Then working back, the balance of remaining the sole owner of her practice for another few years and then settling into a transition plan that would give her the reward of her toll and turmoil of running her business with flexibility and working amongst a team.

At the start of the meeting, she was conflicted and felt as though she was being drawn into a net result that didn’t feel right for her. At the end of the meeting, she had clarity, a clear goal and financial milestones that would assist her decision making.

Do you need someone to layout the issue and work through a solution?
